Why I'm not in the office today! (Part 2)

Well I said I'd let you know how the StepUp event went;

Both days were amazing! By the end there was upwards of 500 teens and 50 mentors having a great time, and learning an awful lot.

The change in the mentors alone was phenomenal, but the HUGE difference in the attitude and beliefs of the teenagers was truly amazing. I had young guys that on the first morning couldn't look me in the eye, and had such low self-esteem, who by the end of the second day were dancing on stage and sharing really profound ideas and thoughts.

Personally, I'll be back. I honestly believe that not only is it good to "put something back", but I also now know that it's not totally altruistic - there's a heap of benefits to the mentor.

So, thanks to Danny Matharu, of Hillrich Ltd for inviting me, and thanks to StepUp for really doing what it says on the tin. Their aim is "Shifting the Future of Humanity in a Single Generation." and I'm sure they're well capable of achieving this.
